We are excited to tell you that we are moving office as of the 22nd March to:
Riding for the Disabled Association
Lowlands Equestrian Centre
Old Warwick Road
We have contacted all groups but please pass on the change of address to your committees and teams. All the other contact details for staff at National office will remain the same.
In light of the move, our normal operations may be disrupted for a short period. This week Group orders won’t be being sent out, however we aim to have all orders out within the two week order window. Please also note that our phones will be switched off from 3:30 today (20/03/2019) until Monday morning if there is an emergency please contact Claire on 07493 394237
This is a huge step in the National training centre (NTC) project and we are excited to move into the new office. The work to complete the National Training Centre is still on going and the official opening won’t be until June but we look forward to sharing with you all the progress of the project. We would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the RDA National Training Centre so far. We hope that over the next few years all our volunteers and participants will benefit from the additional support RDA will be able to offer through this project and we hope to welcome you all to the NTC soon.

Larissa Burnett, one of our N Wales volunteers, who has competed with the Welsh Endurance squad over the last couple of years, is happy to help us to arrange a Regional Endurance taster day sometime in May hopefully. This will be a 1 – 3 km course, hopefully around fields and outside in the open air, and held like a mock endurance competition- though it will be non competitive for this year. if popular then we can then look into holding a competition the following year.
it will also give riders the chance to decide if they like Endurance, even if their home group doesn’t currently offer endurance as an activity, and we can point them in the direction of other events such as RDA national endurance at Hartpury in july and also to British endurance.
Please could you ask riders who may be interested in taking part to let me know their names, contact details (and height and weight) by email email@example.com or phone 0775 2110825, by April 5th.
We are also hoping some volunteers can ride as a ridden escort for the taster, dependent on venue and how many horses we have available, so please make volunteers aware of this to avoid disappointment when passing on the info. we are looking for stewards on the day on foot, to be at certain points around the course, so please ask interested people to let me know.
When we know how many riders are interested, and their heights and weights, we can arrange a course and taster day.
We were joined by 9 vaulters over the weekend and as many coaches for a fun vaulting weekend.
Thanks to everyone who made the weekend such as success.
It was great to be joined by new groups from other regions who are interested in starting vaulting.
A few photos from the weekend.
Please find below details about a Confident Competing course being held at CSRC, organised by Jayne Lewis, on Saturday 25th May, 2019 at 11am. We heard Sandra speak at an event at Northop College last year and she was so good, very useful.
Tickets, costing £15, are available from Clwyd Special Riding Centre on 01352 770 446 or by e-mailing
Please feel free to print off the poster to display wherever you see fit.
This should be a very interesting course, everyone welcome to attend.
Please find below details of a programme for the march 16th training that will be held at the Clwyd Special Riding Centre.
If you wish to attend please email Anne Furey to book a place, there is no charge for this training so all coaches and all volunteers are welcome to attend. Please let Anne know if you would like to come rather than just turning up on the day so that we know how many people are coming on the day.
Please book a place firstname.lastname@example.org

Practical horse knowledge
Due to interest from riders, the Region is pleased to announce that this year we will be holding an ‘in hand showing class’ on the same day as our show jumping qualifiers at Radfords equestrian centre, Oswestry, on the 24th May.
This will be a non Qualifying class, as there is no in hand showing at Hartpury 2019, though national office say they are looking into it for next year perhaps.
Please read the info attached and pass on the information to your participants and groups.
Participants wanting to take part can use RDA horses and ponies for this class, or if their group can’t bring horses to the event then we have a number of N Wales pool horses we can offer, but places will be limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
If participants have their own horses they want to show then they must be assessed by Anne Furey before the showing date,
The participant entering may be a RDA rider, driver or vaulter.
