Alys Lewis-Jones – Regional Joint Chair

Alys

My main role as joint Chair with Liz is primarily to provide feedback of information from RDA National Office to everyone in the North Wales Region. My main other role is to help with coordinating “Riders’ training events” and Volunteers’ and Coaches’ training alongside our County and Regional coaches, as well as our Regional Competitions and Fun days.

Liz and I are happy to help with any problems should they arise in the Region, and we also hold the role of New Group Liason Officer, helping with any new Group enquiries.

We deal with nominations (and writing citations) for Regional volunteer of the year and other RDA awards.
For more information on awards you can contact National Office directly:
Matthew Cobble- volunteers coordinator
Tel: 01926 405 966 email: mcobble@rda.org.uk

I also aim to run a yearly Regional Holiday for riders in our Region along with Liz, Mandy and other N Wales coaches, please get in touch if you would like to help with this.

And lastly, Liz and I meet with our Regional Treasurer to set policies, budget and targets for the coming year. We look at feedback from the Region to help us to set up events and training that is most useful to members of North Wales Region.

Aside from my role as Chair, I enjoy helping where I can with Groups, as a grading examiner and peripatetic riding coach (RDAC) – coaching sessions when a group’s usual coach may be away. I hope to help get vaulting started again at Meirionnydd Group in 2017, and work with Sam Davison to organise Regional Vaulting events. I very much enjoy helping with the carriage driving holiday at Escrick each year and at Regional show jumping events in the past- though we are currently in need of a Show Jumping coach to take show jumping forward in the region.

If you’d like to contact me you can email me: rdanwaleschair@outlook.com
or if you want a quicker answer then text or phone is probably better as I have no internet at home…if so please call/text 0775 2110825

Many thanks to all our North Wales Officers who so faithfully support us in our role!
