North Wales Regional Coach & Showjumping Representative

As the North Wales Showjumping representative I hope to help RDA participants onto the Showjumping pathway, which can lead to the valuable opportunity to take part in RDA Showjumping Competitions and the RDA Showjumping Proficiency Tests. As part of my role as the county coach, my aim is to help develop and improve the coaching standards within the groups, in line with the coaching pathway, which also includes coach reviews.

I have been involved with horses on and off since leaving school as varied as International Showjumping yards, to an Irish horse sanctuary.

Some of the skills I developed during this period that have been very useful in my current roles within the RDA are my work developing young showjumpers, using horse massage to help with rehabilitation and as a preventative role in keeping sports horses fit for competition. Working as an Instructor for Yale College Equine outreach helped me develop the skills needed to be a Coach developer especially with the review process.

I currently coach with the Meirionnydd Special Riding Group and feel passionate about all aspects of RDA. I have enjoyed the process of moving through the RDA coaching pathway over the last 5 years and hope to continue to do so. Whether you are a participant, coach, volunteer, carer/ parent or if you would like to get started on or continue to move through the coaching pathway please get in touch for general support or more information about RDA showjumping.
